Skin Moisturizer

One of the most well-known uses of coconut oil is for skin moisturizing. It is proven to help heal and hydrate dry skin. A lot of lotions and body creams will moisturize your skin, however, most of them do not last all day. But with coconut oil, you can be assured that there will be no dry patch on your skin throughout the day.

Hair Mask

A lot of hair conditioners and treatments you can find at your local supermarket contain coconut oil in them. Coconut oil helps with taming frizz and giving more moisture to the hair locks. You don’t really need to spend a lot just to get healthy and beautiful hair. Just use coconut oil as a deep conditioner once a week and you’ll see wonders.

Dandruff Remedy

Coconut oil is known for its antifungal properties. If you are suffering from dandruff, this miracle worker might be your next best friend. Massage coconut oil into the scalp and leave for at least 30 minutes; do this at least twice a week. You will notice in a couple of weeks that your scalp is a lot more moisturized and no single flake of dandruff will be seen.

Shaving Oil

One of the most neglected uses of coconut oil is its use as a shaving oil. It is a great alternative to the more luxury oils or creams you use in shaving your legs. Not only it helps your razors glide on smoothly, it also leaves a layer of moisture and hydration on the skin.

Makeup Remover

Coconut oil helps with melting off makeup products including waterproof ones. Removing makeup from your face with oils is a lot better than using creams and micellar waters that may contain ingredients that can irritate the skin.

Lip Balm

Not even the most dehydrated and chapped lips can evade the power of coconut oil. You don’t need to purchase fancy lip treatments just to have a soft and supple lip. Use coconut oil in place of lip balms and get nice smooth crust-free lips.

Cuticle Treatment

The coconut oil uses and benefits in beauty are not only applicable to the skin and hair; it is also great for the nails. Due to its antibacterial and antifungal properties, coconut oil can be one of the best remedies for dry and easy-cracking nails.

Body Scrub

Want to get rid of dry skin? That’s very simple. Use coconut oil and mix it with Epsom salts or apricot grains and use as a body scrub. You will be surprised at how soft and brand new your skin will feel after your shower.

  1. Wow….. I never knew that coconut oil is this powerful, I used to see it as a part of the coconut fruits itself, but with what you have written here, I am better educated.
But I want to ask a question, what if I want to just extract the oil and use it directly on my skin hope it is good like that?

    • I’m pretty sure yes. Coconut oil is edible so I guess extracting it and putting the oil directly to your skin gives you no harm.
